The Magic of Pinterest!!

I have several stamping friends on Pinterest so I've been finding some super cute cards that they have "pinned" and I have "repinned" to hopefully make one day! This is one of the cute Halloween owl cards that I came across and just now CASEd as a thank you for our neighbors who invited us to their Halloween party last weekend. I have been obsessed with this little owl punch and have found several creative ideas using it, including a Santa owl card that I'll be making in a few weeks. I really want to make the ghost card that's been popular on SCS - guess I'd better get on it since Halloween is right around the corner!

Happy Haunting!

Halloween Snot Pops!

I'm sure you've been wondering what I've been up to during my blogging hiatus. Well, here it is . . . COOKING! And enjoying lots of fall festivities! Since I discovered Pinterest, I have accumulated an abundance of recipes, and even a few Halloween recipes! Tonight, I made some Oreo pops for a party we're going to tomorrow night. They always look like crap, but they are delicious, and since it's Halloween, I'm hoping the party-goers will overlook their less-than-perfect appearance. They look sort of like snot, so the kids are guaranteed to LOVE them!
First, pulverize a package of Double Stuft Oreos in a food processor. Mix the Oreo crumbs with an 8-oz. package of softened cream cheese. Form into small balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Insert small sticks into the balls and put in the freezer to harden.
Melt two bags of Wilton candy melts in your choice of colors in a glass bowl over barely simmering water, stirring till completely melted. That bowl is going to be H.O.T. so be careful!
Silky smooth!
Carefully dip your frozen Oreo balls in melted chocolate, twirling to coat the entire thing, which won't happen, so when you're finished dipping, use a small spoon to fill in the part that's not coated. ENJOY!!

The pops I saw on Pinterest were perfectly coated in orange and white with little Jack-O-Lantern and ghost faces painted on them in dark chocolate. This is completely misleading. There is absolutely no way to successfully do this, so lower your standards significantly, and make my original Halloween Snot Pops!

Buttons, Beautiful Buttons!!

I have a confession to make - I'm a hoarder! No, I don't have 10,000 empty cereal boxes or a mountain of old newspapers, but I do have more than my fair share of . . . you guessed it . . . paper crafting supplies, especially buttons! I love them! These colorful, gem-like beauties are almost magical. And for some reason, I almost never use them!! So I was completely delighted when I found this beautiful card on one of my favorite blogs, Me, My Stamps and I. I always find inspiration on that blog! If I only get to check one blog a day, and most days, I'm lucky if I get to check even one, this is the one I look at. I just love how all three cards have the same design but are unique in many ways. I can't wait to break out more of my beautiful buttons! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
